1. 熱愛工作;
2. 家庭為快樂泉源;
工作(JOB)就是你每天的日常工作。可能會很辛苦,但也能得到回報;
職業(CAREER)就是一種增進自我成長進步的專業與技能;
Vice Director Sheng-Feng Jeng on Professional Career Planning Workshop
At the beginning of his presentation, Vice Director Shengfeng Jeng told us that the most important things in his life are:
1. Love work
2. Family is the source of happiness
3. Stick to principles throughout your life
From this, there are three important points that he likes to share with us. First, JOB is your daily work every day. It could be very hard, but it can also be rewarding. Next, a CAREER is a kind of profession and skill to enhance self-growth and progress. Finally, your CALLING is what you want to do all your life.
If people can achieve these three at the same time, they will be in the most perfect state! Vice Director Sheng-Feng Jeng brought us the story of his free clinic and speech in Vietnam. He said, "Free clinics are often short-lived and often face sustainability challenges." When he goes to Vietnam for free clinics and prepares for teaching, the local senior doctors will select medical students who are suitable for education, and the deputy dean will teach them the surgical knowledge. He said, "The saddest moment every time is to see the disappointed faces of the students when they were not chosen to receive the surgery. It always makes him feel sad." Therefore, Vice Director Jeng always tries to passes all medical knowledge to local medical students. Because Vietnam is a communist country, students need government approval to study abroad, and it is difficult for them to get a better education, so doctors try their best to teach them, hoping that they can learn the best medical education knowledge.
Vice Director Jeng also shared the benefit of participating in international organizations by proposing a two-way reciprocal promotion plan. By providing free clinics in Vietnam, we are able to provide the volunteer clinic team the chance to learn from practice, provide cross-cultural experience, improve professional knowledge and skills, and enhance cross-team collaboration capabilities. Through the division of labor and close communication with each other before, during and after the clinic, we can keep the program running smoothly and grow with each other. In the end, the Vice Director Jeng encouraged us to find our own purpose of life: "The way to make life more colorful is to try when you see the opportunity." Love work, find your CALLING (volunteer), family as a source of happiness, and stick to principles throughout your life. He said, “Do what you want to do now, and don't postpone your longing until later or after retirement. Don't just do one thing because you’ll get tired soon.” The Vice Director brought us his career development and planning, allowing the students to think about their future in order to understand more about what we can do now, and with the accumulation of qualifications and experience, you will be able to excel in your future career!
